The KING GONG abrasion-resistant rubber curtain is designed to contain fragments in shooting ranges.

Supplied in 10-meter rolls, 120 cm large with a thickness of 6 mm and a hardness of 40 to 50 Shore A, it can be used to create lateral or overhead protection around metal targets.

It can also be installed as an interface between a paper or cardboard target and a bullet trap to limit projections from the impact zone.

It also helps protect floors by reducing the dispersion of debris and fragments. Flexible, durable, and easily adaptable, it must be integrated into a properly designed installation.

It does not, on its own, constitute a bulletproof device.

Heavy product: the roll weighs approximately 80 kg.

KING GONG – Anti-Abrasion Curtain for Fragment Containment

The KING GONG curtain is designed to help contain fragments and debris generated in shooting facilities.

It is particularly suitable for outfitting covered ranges, shooting tunnels, and indoor installations using metal targets, paper targets, or cardboard targets.

Supplied in 10-meter rolls, this anti-abrasion rubber curtain has a thickness of 6 mm and a hardness between 40 and 50 Shore A. This combination provides a good balance between flexibility, mechanical strength, and fragment absorption capacity.

Recommended Applications

The KING GONG curtain can be used in particular to create:

  • lateral protection around metal targets;

  • protection for the upper part of the installation;

  • flexible partitions between multiple shooting areas;

  • cladding designed to limit fragment projection toward walls;

  • peripheral containment of an area equipped with metal targets;

  • a protective interface between a paper or cardboard target and a bullet trap.

For floor protection in indoor ranges, especially when metal targets are used, the use of rubber aggregate tiles is generally recommended. These tiles help absorb fragments directed toward the ground, reduce ricochets, and facilitate maintenance of exposed surfaces.

Installation in Front of a Bullet Trap

The curtain can be installed between a paper or cardboard target and the bullet trap located behind it.

In this configuration, it forms a flexible interface in front of the projectile reception area. It helps limit the dispersion of fragments, particles, and debris resulting from impacts inside or at the entrance of the bullet trap.

This use also helps conceal and partially protect the technical surface of the trap, while maintaining a visually clean shooting area behind the paper or cardboard target.

Positioning, distance from the trap, suspension method, overlap, and replacement frequency must be determined based on calibers, ammunition, and the design of the bullet trap system.

Main Characteristics

  • Roll length: 10 m

  • Thickness: 6 mm

  • Hardness: 40 to 50 Shore A

  • Flexible and abrasion-resistant material

  • Vertical or suspended installation

  • Can be cut and adapted to the range configuration

  • Suitable for indoor or protected environments

  • Compatible with metal, paper, or cardboard targets

  • Can be used as an interface in front of a bullet trap

  • Designed for fragment and debris containment

Use with Metal Targets

When an FMJ projectile with a lead core strikes a properly designed, angled, and well-maintained metal target, it fragments upon impact. Jacket and core fragments are then dispersed around the target, mainly toward the ground when the installation is correctly configured.

In this context, floor protection becomes an essential element of overall safety. Combining KING GONG curtains with suitable floor coverings, such as rubber tiles, helps capture fragments, reduce secondary projections, and limit surface wear.

KING GONG curtains help intercept some of the fragments and limit their dispersion in the immediate environment. They therefore contribute to protecting walls and controlling peripheral areas of the shooting lane.

Design of an Indoor Installation

The use of metal targets indoors must be considered as a complete system. Depending on the configuration, it is necessary to provide:

  • floor protection suitable for impacts and fragments;

  • lateral protections;

  • upper protection;

  • an appropriate bullet trap or projectile capture system;

  • ventilation and maintenance compatible with shooting activity.

Curtains must be properly suspended, positioned with sufficient overlap, and regularly inspected. Any torn, perforated, or excessively worn area must be repaired or replaced.

Important Warning

This curtain is intended to limit the dispersion of fragments and debris. When placed in front of a bullet trap, it serves only as a complementary interface and does not replace the device responsible for stopping projectiles.

It does not, on its own, constitute armor, a bullet trap, or guaranteed protection against direct fire and ricochet phenomena.

The installation must be designed and validated according to calibers, ammunition, shooting distances, target types, and the characteristics of the bullet trap.
